Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas, a Ghanaian luminary, has an illustrious and fruitful career that traverses international and governmental domains. Over the years, he has amassed an extensive wealth of knowledge and experience, showcasing an extraordinary commitment to fostering peace and progress on the African continent and beyond.
From September 12, 2014, to April 7, 2021, Dr. Chambas held the prestigious position of Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS). During this tenure, he presided over the Cameroon-Nigeria Mixed Commission (CNMC), an organization crucial for implementing the International Court of Justice's decision on the border dispute between Cameroon and Nigeria
Prior to his role at UNOWAS, Dr. Chambas held significant positions, including Head of the African Union and United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur, as well as the Joint Special Representative of the African Union and the United Nations for Darfur. He also served as the Secretary-General of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific Group of States from 2010 to 2012. Notably, Dr. Chambas was at the helm of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) from 2006 to 2009, after previously serving as the organization's Executive Secretary from 2002 to 2005.
With a robust political background, Dr. Chambas was a Member of Parliament for Ghana and held pivotal governmental roles, including Ghana's Deputy Foreign Secretary and Deputy Minister for Education in charge of Tertiary Education. His significant contributions extend to the realm of conflict resolution and mediation, notably in Liberia during the 1991-1996 period.
Born in 1950, Dr. Chambas acquired a BA in politics from the University of Ghana. Furthering his academic pursuits, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Government from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA, in 1980, and a Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Cleveland, Ohio, USA, in 1984.

Acknowledged for his exceptional insight, the Economic Commission of Africa (ECA) selected Stephen to be part of an ad hoc team of experts on private equity and venture capital in SME finance in Africa in 2013 and 2015.
Moreover, Stephen holds the prestigious title of a licensed Insolvency Practitioner (IP), showcasing his adeptness in corporate restructuring, receiverships, and liquidation. He played a pivotal role in a significant corporate restructuring and insolvency case involving a private sector iron and steel company, a landmark accomplishment under the newly enacted Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring Act, 2020 (Act 1015).
Education-wise, Stephen holds a Master of Arts degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Wales, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Sociology from the esteemed University of Ghana, Legon. Nana Osei Bonsu

Nana Osei Bonsu's illustrious career is a testament to his expertise and leadership in various sectors. With a strong academic foundation, he earned his first degree in Economics from Saint Francis College in Brooklyn, USA, in 1977, and pursued graduate studies in International Finance at Fordham University Graduate Arts and Sciences.
His extensive banking career in the USA, spanning from 1972 to 2003, included notable roles at prestigious institutions such as the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, New York State Banking Department, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York. Later, he transitioned to the investment banking division of JP Morgan Chase.
Returning to Ghana, Nana served as a Technical Assistant to the Economic Management Team at the Senior Minister's Office from 2003 to 2005. Simultaneously, he took on the role of Technical Advisor to the Minister of State for Economic Planning.
In 2005, Nana assumed the inaugural position of Chief Executive Officer at the Venture Capital Trust Fund (VCTF). Under his leadership, he leveraged the government's endowment of GH¢22.4 million to forge partnerships with private sector investors, including European Equity firms, resulting in the establishment of five Venture Capital Funds with private partners contributing an additional GH¢40.5 million.
In June 2011, Nana assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Private Enterprise Federation, where he continues to make significant contributions.

Mr. Samuel Atuobi Twum brings to the table an impressive 30-year career blending engineering expertise with business acumen and financial analysis. His extensive experience encompasses a wide spectrum of domains, including Investment Management, Real Estate Project Management, Facility Management, Financial and General Management, Corporate and Strategic Planning, as well as Structural and Civil Engineering Designs, and Construction Supervision.
Before assuming his role as the General Manager of the Investment and Development Division at SSNIT, Samuel excelled in various capacities within SSNIT and beyond. He spearheaded pivotal departments such as Strategic Planning, Projects Development, Staff Realignment Project Centre, and Properties Management at SSNIT. Prior to these roles, he held the position of Zonal Engineer for Central & Western Regions of Ghana, and Eastern & Volta Regions, contributing to World Bank-sponsored agricultural sector programs. His expertise also extends to roles as a Senior Consultant in a management consulting firm and as a Design and Construction Supervision Engineer in esteemed engineering consulting firms.
Beyond SSNIT, Samuel is an active member and often chairs committees and boards of diverse businesses and organizations spanning Real Estate, Insurance, Energy, and Hospitality industries. Francis Yaw Berkoh Nketia

Mr. Francis Yaw Berkoh Nketia, FSA, MAAA, a seasoned insurance executive and thought leader within the actuarial space, possesses over 35 years of broad experience in Risk Management, Option Based Valuation (ALM), Pricing, Cash Flow Testing, Budgeting, and Financial Reporting. His American-trained Actuary background, coupled with intimate knowledge of the American and Ghanaian insurance industries and their social dynamics, positions him as a rare Ghanaian professional offering expertise to the African industry.
His special areas of expertise encompass actuarial valuations of life and pension funds, product development and pricing, employee benefit plan design, retirement planning services, life and health insurance. As the Lead Consultant of Rocky Hill Group, he excels in crafting innovative solutions for clients in the U.S.A and emerging markets, including Ghana. Notably, Mr. Nketia led the construction of the first sub-Saharan African Mortality Tables for Social Security and National Trust (SSNIT) in Ghana in 2002 and spearheaded the creation of a Life Insurance Administration system for the African market.
In Ghana, he conducted various assignments, including valuations for State Insurance Company’s liabilities, Bank of Ghana Pension Fund, and the Ghana State Insurance Company Flotation Exercise. Mr. Nketia has significantly influenced public opinion and legislation on actuarial and insurance matters, notably shaping the National Health Insurance and Pension Reform laws through his thought leadership and expertise.
In the U.S., Mr. Berkoh has held prominent positions such as Vice President and Chief Actuary/Chief Risk Officer of SCOR RE, Director at KPMG, and Vice President Risk Management at RGA. Currently, he serves as the Managing Partner at Rocky Hill Group, LLC. He is a Member of the Society of Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries. In 2019, he received the International Association of Black Actuaries Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant impact on the black actuarial community, reflecting his passion for mentoring the next generation of actuaries.
Mr. Berkoh commenced his educational journey at Prempeh College from 1972 to 1979, fostering his academic skills and passion for learning. He obtained a B.A. in Mathematics from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN, USA, in 1983, followed by graduate studies in Operations Research at UMASS-Amherst, Amherst, MA, USA. His academic pursuits provided him with a strong foundation in mathematical principles essential for his career in actuarial science.
He holds esteemed positions within renowned organizations, including being a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of Ghana. Mr. Berkoh serves on the boards of Turaco Insurance in Accra, Ghana, and SCOR Re subsidiaries. He has delivered presentations on various topics and contributed to publications, showcasing his thought leadership and advocacy for critical issues in healthcare financing and pension reform.

Dr. William Antwi

Dr. William Antwi has over 20 years of extensive experience in the financial planning sector in Ghana, particularly in insurance and pensions, complemented by valuable exposure in the United Kingdom. His wealth of experience spans various facets of business, including strategy development, business development, project management, people management, operations management, and financial management. William has been fortunate to gain experience across various roles, including chief marketing officer, chief operations officer, chief executive officer, country director, and board membership, thanks to his hands-on approach and deep appreciation for business dynamics. He is currently the Managing Director at Industrial Pensions Trust Company Limited and serves on the board of trustees for some pension funds in Ghana.
Having held executive director positions in numerous financially regulated entities, William has consistently spearheaded transformative initiatives that lead to the optimization of firm performance, driving these companies from bottom-tier standings to industry pinnacles. His academic credentials include a BSc in Agricultural Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana, an MBA in Marketing from Cardiff Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom, and a Professional Diploma in Insurance, Pension, and Risk Management from the West African Insurance Institute (WAII) in Gambia. Continuing his academic endeavors, he has achieved a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Business Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Ghana.
